There were times of abundance. The tide came in full, bringing shells, pebbles, small treasures polished by the sea. And then it withdrew. Only what it managed to leave behind remained. Milada Thielová works with what is left. Old wood, weathered by time, bears a natural crack, a line into which a memory fits. The artist has lined it with shells, pebbles and tiny pearls: things gathered where the sea reaches the land. Each piece came from somewhere else, each followed its own path. Here they came to rest. The blue-green colour of the wood evokes depth
