Description
"Man with a Cell Phone" is an original painting of a seated man, acrylic on canvas, 40 cm wide, 40 cm high, 2023. It is neither a print nor a copy.
A red field. Within it are black holes and dry twigs. A man sits on a red circle. He wears a gray jacket, blue shoes, and has a yellow head. He holds a blue cell phone in his hand, surrounded by white sparks. In the lower right corner is the signature “Duroň” and the year “2023.”
Small format; not intended for a large wall.
A disoriented and lost old man who relies on his cell phone as his only means of connecting with the outside world. The image highlights human loneliness in this overly technological age of social media and an overwhelming amount of information coming from all sides....The red expanse of the “landscape” evokes the impression of scorched earth—what humanity will leave behind for “future” generations through its reckless approach to nature and the Earth itself. The painting is not intended to be a pessimistic warning, but rather a positive “wake-up call” to guide humanity’s behavior on planet Earth...
