Musaab Alsheikh Ali
Německo 🇩🇪
Writer and visual artist.
In his work, he blends literature, visual art, and personal experiences from various cultural contexts. His work straddles the boundaries of visual art, poetry, and philosophical reflections on human existence.
His artistic and literary journey began while he was studying at the Faculty of Law in Lebanon, where he graduated in 2017. It was during this period that he began to devote himself intensively to writing and visual art.
He received his first significant recognition in 2018, when he won an award in a prose poetry competition organized by the Cultural Forum in Tartus, Syria. This success paved the way for the publication of his literary works.
His first book, *A Call to the Prayer of Departure*, was published in 2021 by Rasslan Alaa Al-Din Publishing House in Damascus, and excerpts from it had previously appeared in the Lebanese newspaper *An-Nahar*. He subsequently published the theatrical dialogue “The Dervishes’ Wine Bar,” on which he collaborated with writer Bana Khadour. Another literary project is a collection of texts in the Levantine dialect titled “Makatib.”
In addition to literature, Musaab Alsheikh Ali is actively involved in the visual arts. His exhibition activities began in his native Syrian city of Masyaf and gradually expanded to other cities in Syria, Lebanon, and other countries. He has held art projects and exhibitions in Beirut, Hama, Tartus, and Erbil in northern Iraq, among other places.
After 2021, his artistic journey shifted to Europe. In Kiel, Germany, he led a workshop titled “Art Is Also a Language,” which highlights art’s ability to transcend linguistic and cultural barriers.
Today, his work emerges from the intersection of diverse cultures and experiences from the Middle East and Europe. Themes of identity, travel, human stories, and intercultural dialogue appear in his paintings and texts.
His works have also been exhibited in the Czech Republic at the Original Gallery, House of Art in Prague, where visitors can explore his visual art within the context of contemporary international art.
