Roland Rommel
Francie 🇫🇷
Roland grew up in Switzerland and always had to deal with changing circumstances caused by economic cycles. In the 1970s, architects in Switzerland faced difficult times due to federal regulations, so he gradually shifted from an artistic career to a business one. This was followed by further training and education, culminating in a federal diploma—a combination that, when paired with his background as an architect, created an exceptional synergy for the field of real estate valuation. He was also appointed by the government as a judge for property disputes. At the peak of his career as the director of one of the world’s leading auditing and consulting firms, he decided in the spring of 2004 to focus on personal goals so that he could continue his personal development while living in the south of France. He returned to his former hobbies—painting, music as a performer and singer of popular music from the 1960s onward—and, thanks to the support and exchange with a Swiss artist in June 2022, to the art of welding whimsical, mythical creatures from scrap metal. For him, painting is a form of liberation, relaxation, and personal fulfillment. His home is filled with works of art seeking new homes. He is financially independent to the extent that his selling prices are calculated so that half of the proceeds demonstrably go to feeding hungry people around the world. The remainder covers the costs of paints and canvases, transportation to the gallery, and the gallery’s operating expenses. It’s important to him that his art can bring joy to others and help alleviate suffering in the world. I find his works humorous and fresh, sometimes melancholic, and highly decorative.
He exhibits his works in our gallery, where you can admire and purchase them.
