I’m a gardener and a café loiterer who flees from people by taking turns heading for the mountains and picking up a paintbrush. Painting keeps my hands busy and clears my head, just like when I’m scrambling up one of my beloved hills—only this time, I get to enjoy a glass (or two) of good wine while I’m at it.
I was incredibly lucky that fate brought an amazing teacher, Ms. Ingeborg Bečvářová, into my life, and she put a paintbrush and a glass in my hand, which got me hooked. When health complications arose, painting helped me immensely, and I’ve stuck with it ever since. I joined a wonderful group of people at the Brett Shared Studio in Jablonné v Podještědí, where I took part in my first public events, such as charity auctions of paintings and group exhibitions. That’s also where I found the courage—or perhaps the audacity—to offer my paintings to others. For me personally, the creative process itself is what matters most; it’s how I relax. So, if any of my creations bring joy to someone, I take it as a pleasant surprise.
