I was born and have lived in Hradec Králové all my life. I graduated from high school and the University of Economics in Prague. Since childhood I have been involved in art as one of many interests that gradually came and went. My interest in art has remained, whether in the form of my own work, visits to galleries or studying history.
A few years ago my youngest daughter came to me asking if I had any unfulfilled dreams from my childhood. She was preparing a play based on a project by the American artist Candy Chang with other children at a theatre camp. After the death of a loved one, she reflected on the mortality of human beings and thought that we often don't have time to think about whether we are missing something important. And that we have dreams and wishes that we keep putting off until there is time for them. Candy thought of giving people the opportunity to stop, think and write their wishes. So she created a space in an old abandoned house in New Orleans where passers-by could write the phrase Before I die I want to... on black boards. I think there are a lot of people who have been influenced by the project. I'm one of them. Yes, I wanted to be a painter as a child, so why not try it as an adult?

I'm still on the journey of creating my own artistic identity. In my paintings I try to capture the visible and the hidden, the conscious and the subconscious. Sometimes I express myself better realistically, sometimes abstractly. I hear two concepts in the word art. To change and to know. I look up to artists who change the world with their work. I strive to know enough to create paintings for people's homes that are easy to live with.
What fascinates me about art is that it is an endless process of interaction between the inner and outer worlds of the artist'sof the work of art and the viewer, who often sees the work differently because of course they have a different inner world, but also a different outer world. That's why I also don't like to describe exactly what I had in mind when I was painting. Especially with abstract paintings, I think that the viewer can create "his" story better. But if you want, I will be happy to tell you mine too.
