Discovering the urge to create something starts with a journey into your inner self. We talk to our minds and look for the spark of what will attract us and not let go. For Silvia Kořistkova, the path to the self leads through colours, shapes and structures. Her dreams press their faces into the canvases where they are locked for eternity. Silvie has been painting and creating since she was a child, but entered the art world as a visual artist in 2018 with a desire to share her paintings with a wider audience. Most often she creates abstract paintings, which she sees as an exploration, a search for harmony and release. By painting abstractions, time stops for her and the space around her merges with the space within. The abstractions are therefore a testimony of a conversation with her subconscious and therefore appear liberated and balanced. The theme of "woman" in her work is also not left behind and becomes a natural starting point in observing her surroundings. Her series of nudes "In the Moon's Cast" is dedicated precisely to the study of our inner feelings, passions and insecurities, impoverished by the garb of artifice and pretense that we wear during the day. Body language does not lie. She has therefore chosen to embody moments in which we reflect not only on the object under scrutiny, but also on ourselves.
At a time when everyone can find inspiration in the field of sex on erotic Internet sites, the painter Silvie Kořistková comes up with an interesting confrontation. Her collection of paintings, "Gentle Curves", is based on the traditional concept of the female nude, which can be found since the Renaissance in the works of Michelangelo Buanorroti, who brought together the European artistic tradition from antiquity through the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, or in Sandro Botticelli's painting "The Birth of Venus", which expresses an almost dreamlike conception of the female body. It is her original take on this genre that brings the viewer an aesthetic experience. Her work of celebrities, especially musicians, rendered in metallic pigments, where some details glitter with real 24 carat gold applied to the structure, has also been a great success. The characters thus come to life and emerge from the canvas in 3D.
In 2024 she donated the painting to the Good Auction for the Czech Diakonia. She also donated the proceeds from the auction of the painting at the exhibition in Poland to the handicapped Helen Stockwell, and in the Czech Republic to the cat shelter in Bohumín and the handicapped girl Sofia Stránská.
This talented artist boasts a rich exhibition history that includes both solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic, as well as abroad: in Italy, Austria, Spain and Slovenia.
Her work has won the recognition of an international jury, which has praised her for her exceptional work. The artist holds a certificate from the NADACE MAIRIE DES ARTS.
