From the “Form and Presence” series. A figure with horns fills the space. Next to it, framed and glowing, is a hamburger—depicted with the solemnity of an icon. The animal is smiling. The work “Burger Dreams” draws on Thomas Nagel’s provocative idea that the inner life of another creature is structurally inaccessible to us. The work does not lament this distance. It simply captures the figure and its possible desire in the same frame—without resolution, without irony, without any hierarchy between them.
