Description

I served fruit from my garden to the snakes, who forced me to drink cyanide, claiming it was almond liqueur. I was a fool, so it broke my heart when I finally saw the truth. I counted the bruises on my neck from their grip (they claimed they were hugging me) and cried an entire ocean for them.

But then I spotted a snowdrop outside the window, as big as a tree. It warmed my heart. The cooks prepared dinner for me—a few defenseless, hideous snakes…

Fortunately, in nature, a healthy tree bears new fruit every year, even if it weathered a few storms.
