Description
A person who hasn’t yet decided what he is.
A tall, slender figure. Arms at his sides, thumbs on the ground, spots all over his body like a lizard’s skin. His nose is a single piece of wood. The transformation here isn’t a costume. It’s carved.
From a distance, a light-colored column on a block.
Up close, the mark of a chisel, a painted spot, a yellow iris.
Into the foyer and living room. He wants the floor or the baseboard, not a nail. Next to the smooth sculptures, he’ll stand out. That’s his place.
