Description

The painting is a memory of the Esterel Mountains; it is not an exact representation, but rather an imprint of experiences: light refracting off the red rocks, the scent of pine trees, the silence of a sweltering afternoon. The Cubist forms here are not merely a stylistic choice, but a way to capture the layers of memory. Fragments come together and fall apart again, just like a memory that never repeats itself exactly the same way.

The geometry of the painting reminds us that memories are neither smooth nor uniform. They are fragments of colors, feelings, and moments that transform over time. Cylindrical trunks, angular crowns, and sharp surfaces of the landscape are my way of reassembling the Esterel, not according to reality, but according to how it returns to my mind.

It is a landscape that exists somewhere between reality and a dream. A landscape that reveals itself not to the eyes, but to memory.
