How did this picture come about? I don't know the dog, but I think he's not mean. I don't know the little girl (personally) either, but I know that's my grandmother. Unfortunately I never met her, because she died terribly young, she must have been just over thirty. The photo from which I painted that picture had been standing on my shelf for a long time, in the place where people have their family displayed and framed. I had this unknown grandmother there, a bit strange, perhaps. But still I think a person should meet as many grandmothers as possible,
