An empty chair spans two canvases, suspended between two distinct worlds. On one side, a lamp shines—a symbol of human presence, memories, and inner space. On the other side stands a bare tree, bringing nature, time, and something primal into the picture. Between them is the chair.
A place of rest, but also a place of absence. A place where someone could sit, but does not. The division of the diptych becomes part of the story itself. The chair is physically interrupted by the space between the canvases, creating a boundary between humanity and nature, the known and the unknown, presence and absence.
The expressive style, distorted shapes, and vibrant yellow-orange atmosphere create a dreamlike space straddling the boundaries of figurative expressionism, surrealism, and dark romanticism. One armchair. Two worlds. Someone is missing.
