Description of the work:

On this planet, the jungle is not just a place.

It is nearly the entire biosphere.

The painting captures a view into the world’s primeval forest, where vegetation has grown into several vertical layers over millions of years. Beneath the green surface, further levels of life extend deep into the soil, while the tallest organisms vanish into the dense atmosphere hundreds of meters above the ground.

The green and turquoise areas represent the lowest layer of the jungle, flooded with water and organic matter. Red, orange, and yellow organisms emerge from the gray-green space, using color not only to obtain energy but also to communicate.

For a human, it would be nearly impossible to determine here what is a plant and what is an animal.

And therein lies the mystery of this world.

As the heroes enter the jungle, they gradually realize that individual organisms are not independent. Roots, fungi, moving creatures, and the enormous canopies above them are constantly exchanging information.

The entire jungle forms a single interconnected ecosystem.

Perhaps even a single consciousness.

The heroes therefore spend a long time searching for the planet’s intelligent inhabitants, without realizing a simple fact:

from the moment they entered the jungle, the jungle has been watching them.
