Portál W (Portal W)

Description

A combined layered technique featuring a distinctive surface texture, engraved lines, impasto brushstrokes, and a contrast of cool blues, grays, and earthy tones. Portal W is not a gate that can be opened.

It is a place where space has been forced to change its shape.

The painting captures the moment of activation of one of the portals that allow one to traverse distances beyond the reach of any conventional propulsion system. The blue area represents stable spacetime. The gray and earthy layers are matter surrounding the portal, deformed by immense gravitational stress. The delicate engraved lines trace paths that, upon activation, cease to follow conventional geometry.

A bright area forms in the center.

It is not a tunnel.

For at its other end, nothing exists in the conventional spatial sense. For a brief moment, the portal connects two distant locations in such a way that the distance between them ceases to exist.

The civilization that created this technology labeled individual portals only with symbols. The meaning of most of them has been forgotten over time.

One of them bore the designation W.

When the heroes find it, the portal has been inactive for millions of years. Yet its structure still reacts to their presence.

Eventually, it awakens.

However, beyond Portal W lies not the place they were looking for.

There lies a place that, according to all their maps, does not exist.
