Inteligentní strom z galaxie W (The Intelligent Tree from the W Galaxy)

Description

On one of the planets in Galaxy W, intelligence did not take the path of movement.

It put down roots.

The image depicts a member of an ancient species of intelligent trees. Its green trunk is not merely a support for its body; it is a complex biological network that stores memory, processes information, and connects the tree’s consciousness to the entire planet.

The colorful structures resembling flowers are its sensory organs. Each perceives a different aspect of reality: light, the chemical composition of the atmosphere, vibrations in the soil, electromagnetic fields, and the presence of other consciousnesses.

The tree cannot leave.

It cannot flee from danger.

That is why, over millions of years, it has learned something else—to sense danger before it arrives.

Its roots are connected to other trees hundreds of kilometers away. Entire forests thus form a vast, intelligent network. An individual tree may die, but its memories have long since flowed into the others.

When the heroes land on the planet, they try to find the local civilization.

They find no cities, machines, or transmitters.

Then one of the trees slowly turns its flowers toward them.

The first message they receive from it does not sound like a greeting:

“We know why you’ve come. We’ve been waiting for you for three hundred years.”
