My work is not a depiction of darkness; it is a map—a map of both internal and external terrain—a spiritualized topography of the weight and balance of our time. Day and night, good and evil, Yin and Yang. Just as Heaven is inevitable, so too must the abyss exist—this is the fundamental principle of life’s balance. Today’s world strives for constant light, for the denial of shadow. For me, night is not the worse, and failure does not bring me depression. Why sweep things that must balance the spiritual essence of being under the rug?

The central, archaic triangular motif, which seems to be sinking into or, conversely, emerging from the ground, symbolizes transformation. In an era of identity crisis and ubiquitous digital noise, the canvas offers grounding. It is a visual expression of the fact that without chaos and apparent “dirt,” there would be no light and no order. Balance.
