Description
This oil on canvas was created as a commissioned design for the Stations of the Cross at the church in Milč near Nepomuk. This is the third station (Jesus falls under the cross for the first time). I pondered the entire concept for a long time, or rather focused on a possible common motif (insight) of all fifteen stations. I saw simplicity, order, and symbolism. Only at the last station did the circles dissolve (resurrection).
