A turquoise mass below, gray smoke above, silver flakes like fragments that didn’t have time to burn out. The Perseids aren’t streaks here. They’re patches of metal.
From a distance, a cold, nocturnal wall.
Up close, foil, grain, spots where kerosene has soaked into the blackness.
Into the living room. Toward the gray plaster and metal. A spotlight illuminates the silver. Daylight calms it.
