STRÁŽCE KLÍČŮ (GUARDIAN OF THE KEYS)

Description

"The Keeper of Keys" was created as part of my long-term project "Déjà Vu."

When I began working on this painting, I wasn’t trying to create a portrait of a specific person. Yet I was thinking of a good friend of mine, a pianist who passed away a few years ago. I wanted to give form to the quiet weight that each of us carries at some point in our lives: memories, regrets, the horrors that surround us, unanswered questions, and those moments when life is incredibly difficult—when silence speaks louder than words and we are forced to take off our rose-colored glasses and accept the world as it truly is.

Hanging in the center of the painting is a small golden key, representing hope, healing, and forgiveness. It is not just an ordinary object; it is a symbol of unlocking those parts of ourselves that we have hidden from the world and from ourselves.
