Description

This painting is both a humanoid figure and a partial self-portrait. It is not a portrait in the literal sense, but rather an image of a being standing at the intersection of the body and technology, presence and depersonalization.

The missing face is intentional. It does not represent a loss, but rather the liberation of identity from a specific form. The eye, positioned along the body’s axis, symbolizes the ability to see beneath the surface and perceive a person more intensely than a casual glance allows.

For me, hands and touch are essential forms of communication, perception, and interaction. The hands in the painting are therefore not merely an anatomical element, but a symbol of contact, haptic experience, power, and the subtle reading of another body’s reactions.

Metal bases function as connection points from which colored fishing line extends, creating a three-dimensional neural network. This shifts the figure into the realm of a humanoid being, where the organic meets the synthetic.

At the same time, my own physical imprint enters this construction. Parts of the painting were created by directly imprinting my body. The painting thus carries not only the motif of the body, but also its actual presence.
