Meditative Painting and Inner Landscapes. Original Gallery
As a painter, I feel like a glass of clear water. Every evening, I devote 30 to 60 minutes to meditation. In the silence, scenes, places, and states that are not of this world unfold, along with colors whose hues transcend the ordinary spectrum. Once, during such a journey, I heard a clear message: “Don’t try to understand what you see. Just look at it closely.”
These words changed my approach. I stopped analyzing and began painting exactly as things appear. The seed of my paintings is almost always my own life, but in a subconscious guise: memories, dreams, emotions, and states of being that lie hidden behind the facade of everyday life. The paintings do not arise from a plan or a concept; they are born of attention, silence, and a willingness to let colors and shapes flow.
Dominik Hladký paints intuitively, guided by his inner vision. His works are neither illustrations nor narratives; they are rather a record of moments when the subconscious becomes visible. They are landscapes of the soul, where the personal and the universal, the familiar and the elusive, intertwine.
He lives and works in the Czech Republic. For him, painting is not a profession but a way of listening to and encountering what lies deeper than words.
